Image
Photo: TBoss (left), TBoss dad with a 400 level student he got married to. TBoss Might just have subtly responded to her father’s curse earlier today. Vincent Idowu, a civil engineering lecturer at Ambrose Ali University, married a 400 level student of the school.. and the picture immediately went viral. Her dad, today, then took to the gram to reply trolls who came for him, for marrying a lady so young, who apparently, is his student. He didn’t just respond to trolls.. He also laid a curse on his daughter, TBoss.. He wrote; ”When destiny smiles on someone, he forgets that there is life elsewhere. If I look like a roasted goat on my wedding day, that’s cool but that writer will soon become a resident of a subcity where people with severed limbs, broken bones, amputations, stinking blind and lame reside. THIS IS A PROMISE. I live a humble, private life and did not intimate TBoss or any of her siblings of m...

My Fight With Parker Will Make 'history' - Joshua

WBA and IBF world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua says Joseph Parker will be ‘overwhelmed’ in their unification fight in Cardiff on Saturday. Joshua, undefeated Briton of Nigerian descent, is the overwhelming favourite and will have home advantage in the Principality Stadium. However, New Zealander Parker is also unbeaten in his 24 fights and brings with him the WBO belt. A crowd of 80,000 is expected and Joshua says Parker will have never heard anything like the noise that will be generated. “It took me a few times to get used to it,” Joshua, who has a 20-0 record, told the BBC. “It’s an experience he hasn’t faced yet. It is daunting, it is overwhelming. You have a fighter that will block out the noise, which takes a whole heap of energy. “Then you have a fighter who rides the wave, which can leave you too excited. “The fight is won or lost in training camp but the last bolt is screwed on during the spell from your changing room to the first bell.” Whoever wi...

Image
Photo: Russian President Vladimir Putin and President Trump The Trump administration on Monday ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian intelligence and diplomatic officers in New York and Washington and the closure of the Russian Consulate in Seattle, joining European allies in retaliation for the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain. Twelve Russian diplomats at the United Nations in New York and 48 at the Russian Embassy in Washington face expulsion by the U.S. government for what senior administration officials described as covert intelligence operations that undermine U.S. national security. The U.S. government also ordered the Russian Consulate in Seattle closed by April 2. Senior administration officials said they believe it has served as a key outpost in Russia’s intelligence operations, in part because of its proximity to a U.S. submarine base as well as Boeing manufacturing facilities. Monday’s actions were in response to the March 4 nerve agent attack...

Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont detained in Germany

Image
Photo: Former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont  Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont was on Sunday (March 25) in Germany four months after he went into self-imposed exile from Spain, where he faces up to 25 years in prison for organising an illegal referendum on secession last year. Puigdemont had entered Germany from Denmark after leaving Finland on Friday (March 23) when it appeared police would arrest him there and begin an extradition process requested by Spain. The detention threatens to worsen the Catalan crisis which flared last year when the region made a symbolic declaration of independence. Spanish authorities have since imposed direct rule over the region, suspending the wealthy state’s autonomy. German police said they had arrested Puigdemont in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein on a European arrest warrant issued by Spain. In a statement, police said Puigdemont was detained near a section of the A7 highway which cuts through the state from th...

NBC bans Olamide, Davido, 9ice’s Songs

Image
Less than 24 hours after the National Broadcasting Commission banned one of his recent songs, Wo, among others, from being played on the airwaves, popular rapper, Olamide Adedeji, has said that he never intended to cause harm to music fans with the song. The rapper, popularly called Olamide, on Tuesday tweeted: “No intentions of promoting tobacco to get people killed. I love my people, I love my country. One love, one Nigeria.” The NBC, on Tuesday, placed a ban on works by three of Nigeria’s top level music artistes for an alleged violation of its rules and regulations. It named Olamide’s Wo and Wavi Level; a remix of Davido’s If and 9ice’s Living Things as the culprits in a current list of banned songs and music videos that it released to the public. Although the commission did not give specific reasons for banning the songs, the decision may have been influenced by a recent reaction from the Federal Ministry of Health to the music video of Olamide’s new song...

David Warner targeted on Newlands staircase by abusive spectator

There has been another incident involving David Warner and a staircase in South Africa after Australia's security man raced to the opener's aid when a rowdy spectator followed him up towards the dressing room and abused him on Friday. Less than three weeks after Warner's ugly row with Quinton de Kock at Kingsmead, the vice-captain was on the end of a verbal barrage from an elderly man who shadowed him up the stairs following his exit at the hands of Kagiso Rabada. After stopping momentarily, the Australian vice-captain appeared to exchange words with the spectator, who had risen from his seat in the Western Province Cricket Club members section. There was a fence between the two but the Australian team's head of security, Frank Dimasi, was prompted to race down from the players' viewing area above and castigate the venue security for not protecting the player. Warner, sitting on three demerit points and only one further indiscretion away from a one-...
